A farm near NTU: FARMART

A good place for both children and adults to visit, FARMART is a village of shops and enclosures selling farm produce, plus a simple air-conditioned restaurant and a canteen. There is even one shop selling lobsters and crabs from a ‘fish farm‘.

Some of the things of interest at Farmart:
Potted ‘Sweet Potato’ plants (potatoes visible)
Potted “Peanuts” plants (peanuts visible)
Ladies’ finger, brinjal, maize plants, potted plants, etc
Goats, ducks, chickens, etc.

Well worth a visit. The Farmartfolks are very friendly. They said Farmart is packed on Sundays with schoolkids and their parents. To get there, take the KJE after the JalanBaharjunction. Before long you will see signs “FarmArt” before the Sungei Tengah exit. Follow the signs and you will come to Farmart easily. Incidentally, FarmArt is on high ground and from its vantage point you will get a good view of the new Warren Golf Club.

An alternative route is to go up Jalan Bahar and take the old Choa Chu Kang Road to Sungei Tengah. If you use this route, you will get a feel of how small (and ‘curvaceous’) the old main roads, such as Choa Chu Kang Road, were.
