Children should be seen and not hurt (2)

After that serious real-life story, let me tell you a little (fictitious, this time) story about a man who had 5 daughters. He very much wanted to have a son (to carry on the family name and that sort of thing).

When his wife was in the hospital to deliver the 6th child he prayed very hard that this time it would be a boy (this was in the old days before baby-sex scanning was developed). When his wife and new-born were back in the ward, he went in and his wife told him, “it’s a boy”.

He let out a whoop of joy, kissed his wife, took one good look at his son and went out to buy cigars for everybody.

One of his well-wishers took a long drag on his cigar and said to the man, “Congratulations!!! By the way, does your son look like you or your wife?”

The man replied, “Oh! I don’t know who he looks like. I haven’t looked at his face yet!”

No reward for the correct answer of what he had been looking at!
