Almost everyone, when they were young children, would have gone through a phase of collecting stamps. Some of us never forget the childhood fascination of these stamps and the bits and pieces of stories behind the stamps.

In this little book the authors enlist the help of stamps to tell the story about the different modes of transport in Singapore’s early days. These were the days when transport depended on the sheer brute muscle-power of Man, Horse and Bull. These were the days of the Rickshaw, Bullock Cart, Horse-drawn Carriage and Trishaw.

So, read on and join the authors on a philatelic excursion and be transported into the past.

The authors wish to thank Lady Yuen Peng McNeice for generously providing the funds to publish this book.
