The king “missing” from stamps

The four kings who reigned after Queen Victoria and before Queen Elizabeth II were Edward VII, George V, Edward VIII and George VI.

King Edward VII reigned from 1901 to 1910.
King George V reigned from 1910 to 1936.
King Edward VIII reigned for only a few months in 1936.
King George VI reigned from 1937 to 1952.

King Edward VIII is not one of the kings in the stamp above. In fact, Singapore has no stamps bearing the image of King Edward VIII.

Read on to find out the reason.

Stamp: 2004 Aug The three stamps-within-stamp show Edward VII, George V and George VI.
