Sri Perumal Temple

Gazetted as a national monument in 1978.

The Sri Perumal Temple is situated at the Rangoon Road end of  ‘Little India’. The original temple was a simple building built in 1855.

The present temple dates from 1961. The temple’s biggest donor was the philanthropist, P. Govindasamy Pillai.

A short walk away from the Sri Perumal Temple is the Sakaya Muni Buddha Gaya Temple in Race Course Road.
